You can increase awareness and sales among our association membership and their districts by becoming an Associate Member of the Southeastern Zone SBGA.

  2. Your company must be a Chapter Member in good standing to attend our monthly Chapter meetings.

Asbestos Material Testing

The State Education Department has been in contact with representatives from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) to provide guidance to school districts and facilities directors regarding the recent information from the Department of Health's Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP) related to testing of cellulose containing materials. The DOH's ELAP is the program that certifies the laboratories that are approved to analyze and report sampling results in New York State for various materials of interest, including asbestos. Representatives from DOL, DOH, and DOH ELAP have reviewed and provided edits on the language of this article.

Milford Central School District Goes Green
with Solar Energy Project

Federal Stimulus Funding Helps School District Reduce Energy Costs By $4,315 per year

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is partnering with the Milford Central School District on a solar energy project that will help the school district save $4,315 per year in energy costs. Milford Central School’s solar energy system will generate and supply clean, renewable energy for its PreK-12 building. As part of this installation, the school also will have a meter on display for students and visitors to monitor the electrical output of the system.
